We collaborated with Uber and X on an interactive AR experience for the Uber Breakthrough Japan campaign. By simply holding up a palm to the camera, users activate their “superpower” and unlock an Uber ride discount, turning a natural gesture into a seamless interface with nothing to learn and nothing to download.
Built as WebAR so it could run from any link in the campaign, on any phone, in a market where app-install friction kills conversion. Hand-tracking thresholds were tuned for one-handed use on a crowded train platform, which is where a lot of people actually opened it.
